What’s new? How much will they cost? And would they suit your game? Hannah Holden has all the details
Power breeds confidence, and that’s why the new Titleist Velocity golf ball is all about pure speed to give you more distance. So what’s new? Let’s take a closer look…
Titleist Velocity golf ball: First impressions
The Velocity uses the same principles and fundamentals that we see in the Pro V1. But here the focus is really on more distance throughout the bag. It is exciting for golfers that they can get the benefits of Titleist’s high performance golf balls but also have features that are needed for someone who needs more distance. It really is the best of both worlds.
Titleist Velocity golf ball: The technology
The new LSX core has a higher compression which helps to deliver more distance as it generates more ball speed on full shots.
The cover has also been reformulated to give more playable greenside feel as well as increasing speed.
The dimple design features 350 Octahedral’s which are spherically-tiled around the golf ball. This was specifically designed to promote a higher more consistent ball flight.
Titleist have also done extensive research and development into coloured golf balls as well as getting golfer feedback on colour preferences. From October the Velocity golf ball will be available in three matte colours including a brand new blue option.
The Velocity is manufactured by Titleist at their own Ball Plant 2 in Massachusetts to ensure consistent performance and quality from every box.
