JJW Hotels & Resorts own properties Europe-wide, but it is their resorts in the Algarve that are best known to golfers.

Penina Hotel and Golf Resort, Dona Filipa Hotel and Formosa Park Apartment Hotel are some of the best-known places to stay in southern Portugal.

The Penina Hotel and Golf Resort has three golf courses on site, including the famous, Sir Henry Cotton Championship course, which has hosted the Portuguese Open on several occasions.

It was the first course to be built in the Algarve and has a rich history and atmosphere that everyone will enjoy.
This five-star resort has 188 rooms and suites, some of which have pool views accompanied by beautiful mountain views.

There are a host of amenities to enjoy such as a wide variety of restaurants and bars, an on-site gymnasium, tennis centre and a wellness centre for those looking to relax.

The Dona Filipa Hotel is also a five-star property set in the Vale do Lobo area of the Algarve, and its guests can play the magnificent San Lorenzo golf course – regularly voted among the top 20 courses in Europe – and at the 27-hole, Pinheiros Altos Golf Course. The hotel is located within the stunning Ria Formosa Nature Reserve.

The third property in the JJW portfolio, is the four-star Formosa Park Apartment Hotel, again, situated in the Vale do Lobo area. It offers comfortable apartments, as well as excellent facilities such as two swimming pools and an on-site restaurant and bar.

A trip to the Algarve is a great opportunity to play some of Europe’s best golf courses at a price that won’t break the bank, whilst still enjoying four-star standards.
