A golf club worker has claimed he was sexually harassed at work by a female colleague who spanked him daily.
The man, known as Mr X, worked at Machrihanish Dunes on the Mull of Kintyre, an 18-hole course with luxury cottages.
He began work in the laundry room in August 2016 alongside Ms Y, who Mr X says talked constantly about sex acts and groped and spanked him.
In September 2018, Mr X emailed operations manager Mhairi Morrison to ask to only work shifts when Ms Y was off, leading to a chain of emails.
Ms Morrison said the complaint was passed to an external HR firm, and their position was that because it was “your word against hers… there wasn’t much we could do”.
Mr X was removed from the firm’s payroll several months later. He is taking the club to an employment tribunal for unfair dismissal and sexual harassment.
The club’s general manager Andrew Hogan told a hearing that Mr X had never complained about sexual harassment.
The club said Mr X had resigned after refusing to attend the laundry and his complaint was out of time.
The tribunal found that the date of dismissal was December 2018.
Employment judge Mary Kearns said the complaint “was not properly investigated” and the case will proceed to a further hearing.
