Portuguese confident about safety of Covid-19 vaccine

I love Portugal. However, the people are largely, as someone has suggested above, scientifically illiterate. Covid-19 has a death rate (as of this writing) well below .5%. And as testing increases, that rate becomes even lower. And for this we are going to destroy the economy? For this we are going to gamble with the lives of our children (and future generations)? It’s time to wake up Portugal. Tell big Pharma and the Gates foundation to ‘take a hike

@Michael Andrews, if you are so confident that these untested vaccines are effective, why do you want “us” to go and live on an island? If it is effective “we” shouldn’t be a threat to you or your herd and you can bleat ‘told you so’ to your heart’s content.

Meanwhile in the real world, it takes 5 years to properly develop a vaccine and another 5 years to test it properly, the latter having been swept aside to appease noissy politicians. It seems you are happy to volunteer yourself for the testing, putting your trust in these wonderful scientists (who are indemnified from any claims against them) and of course the great government who never lies and has only our best interests at heart.

To all the anti vaccine brigade who are so arrogant to refute what incredible and ingenious scientists We are blessed with in this fragile world of ours, please go and live on a desert island all together so We mere mortals don’t have out to put up with your silly arrogance and obliviousness to your stupidity .

I’ve just moved from the UK to Portugal and this is great news. How wonderful to be surrounded by a smart citizenry that isn’t so susceptible to misinformation and conspiracy theories. Good on you Portugal, you must have had a good education ????????

And as the masses jump over the cliff, oh well i might as well do it too, when the majority of people are addicted to the telenovella, what can i say, the brain drain happened well before the 50’s and going strong.

IF THE VACCINE WAS DEVELOPED AND PRODUCE IN AMERICA, I WOULD NEVER BE A PARTY. THEIR INTENTION IS UNCLEAR AND THEIR DESIRE TOWARDS HUMANITY IS DEVILISH. BUT ANY OTHER COUNTRY LIKE GERMANY AND ISREAL WOULD BE WELCOMED BY ME.

This is utter nonsense. The most vulnerable to side affects are the people that really want the vaccine? Silly.

Unfortunately, the media spread panic with scary pictures and irrelevant statistics but don’t inform about the risks and possible side effects of this new vaccine. The vaccine, which most likely will be on the market next year, is a mRNA vaccine which has never existed before. Side effects, let alone long term side effects, are unknown, but there is a great chance that it can induce autoimmun diseases and even cancer among others. The test criteria for vaccines have been changed recently, so that long term side effects can not be evaluated. To my knowledge not the producing company but the governments have to cope with the costs of the treatment of vaccine related damages.
