You might love your job at the moment but how about this one? A golf course tester.
While this isn’t a full-time job, more a one-off mission, you could be in line for testing four golf courses and being paid too.
The Golf Travel Centre, the firm advertising the opportunity, says: “We’re looking for a golf enthusiast to become our first official professional golf course tester, trying out golf courses around the UK”.
Golfers were allowed back on to courses around England from Monday, March 29, after stage 2 of lockdown lifting came into effect. With reports of some dedicated players queuing for courses to open after midnight on that date, the sport certainly has a committed following.
So, what do you need to do to apply?
According to the offer, it will be on the same basis as a competition – the firm stresses this is not an offer of full-time employment. But if successful you will be the Golf Travel Centre’s golf course tester visiting four different golf courses in the UK, the location will be assigned by Golf Travel Centre.
At each location, you’ll be provided with golf passes, club rentals, and food.
You have to be 18 or over and live in the UK but you’ll be paid £500 for your ‘work’ and you can bring one guest on your testing mission. Applications should be submitted on a form found at www.golftravelcentre.com/blog/applications-open-dream-job/
A spokesperson for the firm said: “The UK is world-renowned as the home of golf boasting an incredible range of golf courses alongside superb resorts and hotels. With so many championship courses, this is the chance to put your golfing skills to the test.”
