KOLKATA: Arjun Puri carded five-over par in the second round to be in the lead in AA Category boys after the second day of the 107th Albatross Golf Tournament, which is being held at the Tollygunge Golf Club in Kolkata.
Joysurjo Dey has taken the lead in the Category A boys while Fizza Ali has maintained her lead in the Category A girls.
Meanwhile, Anshul Mishra continued his fine performance in Category B boys. Mishra followed up his 67 in the opening round with a 73 on Thursday and maintained his position at the top of the category. Gurmehr Bindra is in the second position after returning a card of one-over 71. Sinjini Mukherjee leads Category B girls.
Prashant Agarwal and Anahaat Bindra are leading in Category C boys and girls, respectively. In Category D boys, Varish Mohta is at the top of the leaderboard. Aranyak Chakraborty and Julinka Roychowdhury lead the Category E boys and girls.
This is the first-ever tournament in Kolkata to carry world amateur ranking points. A total of 56 golfers — in the age category of six to 22 years — have been divided into six groups: AA, A, B, C, D E (Boys and Girls).
The tournament is being played in Gross Strokeplay format, with categories AA, A, B, C and D (Boys & Girls) competing over 54 holes and Category E (Boys & Girls) challenging over 27 holes.
Golfers in categories AA, A, B, C and D have completed 36 holes after the second day while Category E finished 18 holes.
Only participants in Category AA will be eligible to receive world amateur ranking points.
